THE DARK TOWER Back Under Construction

It seems this project has been off and on again more times than a fucking light switch, and the last I heard back in July was that THE DARK TOWER was basically dead. Universal had backed out, and it just wasn't going to happen. But now things are stirring once again and with the following news thanks to Horror-movies.ca and Indiewire maybe we can finally start getting excited once again.
The film's producer Brian Grazer spoke to Indiewire recently and claimed that with a majorly reduced budget the tower might just see the light of day:

“We found a way to cut out $45 million out of the budget without changing the scope and actually giving it a good ending,” Grazer said, suggesting a heavily re-worked approach. “In the $140 million draft, the ending wasn’t quite as satisfying. Now, we’ve got $45 million, $50 million out of the way and a really satisfying ending. It’s gonna get made.”

Ron Howard is supposedly still taking on the directorial roll from a script by Akiva Goldsman.
