More Minimalist Horror Posters

A while back I did a post on minimalist horror posters because I am such a big fan of them. If you want to see that post you can do so right here.
These simple yet clever posters are really fun to design, and so I even uploaded a few that I made myself. And much to my surprise, someone at Horror-movies.ca has just compiled a list of their own favorite minimalist posters, and around half a dozen of my own designs are on the list. I'm really stoked about it, because honestly I didn't think my ones were anything special but I guess there are some people who like them. Anyway, you can see the whole list here.

And if you like my designs (you'll see my name mentioned above them) please, please let me know. I'd really appreciate it, and if enough people like them I may even be able to get them printed up and sell them. Also I urge you to try and design your own, it's really fun.

25 Directors Named For THE ABC'S OF DEATH

I remember reading about this huge horror anthology months ago, but there wasn't really a lot to report. Now however, courtesy of Horror-movies.ca we have the complete list of 25 directors. The 26th director will of course be chosen via a contest which ends on October 1st. You can see the submission guidelines here.

The basic premise is that the film will be broken into 26 very short segments of only a few minutes each, which will all be directed by a different director and will each be based on a different letter in the alphabet. Each letter will represent a word which will then act as a springboard to tell a short story about death.
The as yet unchosen director will be directing a segment on the letter T and you can see some of the current submissions here.

The list of directors is as follows:

  • Kaare Andrews (Altitude), USA

  • Angela Bettis (Roman), USA

  • SIX DEGREES OF HELL Trailer In Mid September

What will supposedly be the 'scariest movie of 2012' has recently finished filming. SIX DEGREES OF HELL which stars Corey Feldman (Friday the 13th Part IV, The Lost Boys) is a haunted house tale which has been filming during August in the Hotel of Horror in Saylorsburg, PA. An announcement on the movie's official Facebook page earlier today has said that

"An official trailer is on schedule for mid-September. The footage is fantastic and we are excited to get this out. Stay tuned!"

The Hotel of Horror (also known as the Lake House) is a supposedly haunted attraction which was built in 1847 by a man named Charles Saylor and is known for around 15 suicides committed there, as well as numerous ghost encounters. You can visit the official site here.

I have to admit I was very skeptical of this film when I first heard the 'scariest movie' claim. But I've been keeping a close eye on it and from the promo images and official stills which have been released I have to say that it is looking like a really creepy, bloody film. Stay tuned for more info regarding the trailer and release
date. In the meantime enjoy these images below.

Synopsis: Ever walk through one of those Halloween haunted attractions and wonder how real it all looked? What if it was? Six individuals are caught in a supernatural perfect storm that has come to claim one of them and tear apart the soul of a small town. Corey Feldman headlines a cast of veterans and newcomers in Six Degrees of Hell

Nick Cole THE OLD MAN AND THE WASTELAND Book Review

I took a chance and bought a bunch of $0.99 eBooks for my Kindle. I'd never read them before or even heard of the authors, but I figured that at such a cheap price I didn't really have anything to lose. I've finished a couple so far and the results have varied, but THE OLD MAN AND THE WASTELAND by Nick Cole has definitely been my favorite so far.
Part Ernest Hemingway and part Cormack McCarthy is how a lot of people have referred to this book, and it will definitely appeal to anybody who loves a good post-apocalyptic story. I love everything from Mad Max to the Fallout games, and this is a story which has a little touch of both.

Set 40 years after nuclear war has decimated the world, the story centers around The Old Man (the only name which is given to him in the book) who lives in a small community in the middle of the wasteland. To get by, the villagers make trips out into the waste to find things to salvage. But the other members of the community have deemed The Old Man 'curst' (cursed) and refuse to hunt for salvage with him.
He then decides to head off on his own, deep into the wasteland to try and break this curse. His prized possession is a copy of Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea, and although he leaves the physical book at home he carries the story with him.
During his journey he faces many perils including a homicidal hotel owner with a swimming pool full of snakes, a pack of hungry wolves, and a tribe of barbaric mutants. Not to mention nature itself, for finding food, water and shelter is hard enough in itself and is made even worse when he has to deal with everything from extreme heat to flash flooding.
But by the end of it he has broken his curse and finds the greatest salvage of all.

This was a pleasantly surprising read. I'd never before heard of Nick Cole and bought this book on the strength of a small blurb which I read beforehand. The only real criticism I have is that the book is a bit short. In fact I read it in one day. But other than that it was pretty amazing. Cole's writing style is great and the different perspectives shown through the eyes of The Old Man, the wolf pack's Alpha Male and the savage tribal leader helped to break the story up. I really hope that there is some kind of follow up book on the way.

Clive Barker Reacts To HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS

I've seen 2 or 3 clips from the new HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS (the 9th film in the franchise) and I think I can honestly say that I never want to watch it. Ever. And it seems that Clive Barker is not too happy about the film either. He was only really involved in the first two movies and has only been credited since because the characters being used are his creations. So it's easy to understand how he feels about this latest sequel, which was only made so that Dimension could keep the franchise rights. He took to his Twitter page on the weekend to let his honest opinion be known.

Hello,my friends. I want to put on record that the flic out there using the word Hellraiser IS NO FUCKIN’ CHILD OF MINE!” “I have NOTHING to do with the fuckin’ thing. If they claim its from the mind of Clive Barker,it’s a lie. It’s not even from my butt-hole.”

It's easy to feel sorry for the man, who's had his name linked to every shitty HELLRAISER sequel. But I kind of feel sorry for the filmmakers as well, since they had to make do with a shoestring budget and the short time Dimension had given them.

Has anybody seen REVELATIONS yet? Is it really as bad as the trailer makes it look?

    Stephen King UR Book Review

It was my birthday on Sunday, and I just so happened to get something that I've been wanting for a while now. A Kindle. I still enjoy having a physical book to read, but the Kindle is just so convenient and the books you can download are so much cheaper. So it's kind of fitting that one of the first books I read with it was a Stephen King novella which is about a Kindle. So far as I know, UR has only been released electronically (which is another good reason for having one of these gadgets) and only cost me just over $3.00.

It centres on a college English professor named Wesley Smith, who after breaking up with his girlfriend decides to buy a Kindle to spite her. He orders one online and is surprised when it arrives the very next day. What is also surprising is that the Kindle is pink, and as far as Wesley knows they only come in one color which is white.
Wesley's plan to spite his ex-girlfriend Ellen disappears though once she lets him know that she is willing to talk, but only after she takes her women's basketball team to a weekend tournament. Wesley uses this time to get to know his Kindle a little more, and is surprised when he browses the EXPERIMENTAL menu. Before long he has found a menu called UR BOOKS where he discovers dozens of novels written by famous authors which he has never heard of before. After showing the kindle to two friends, they come to the impossible conclusion that these undiscovered books belong to alternate realities.
Wesley then finds another menu titled UR LOCAL and after being warned of 'Paradox Laws' he locates the town's newspaper. But for some reason he cannot access any articles from the past. Instead he finds articles from future events, and one particular article which fills him with dread.
Along with a friend, Wesley needs to find a way to change the future. But what are these Paradox Laws and what happens when you break them?

Being a novella, the story isn't very long at under 100 pages. But I didn't think it was too short, in fact it was the perfect length. It's classic King, and the theme of machines going wrong is a familiar one. A couple of King's other mainstays also make an appearance, namely the Low Men and the ominous Dark Tower.
It was a very good book, and I had a little trouble putting it down in between reads. The ending was something I didn't expect, and while it was a little upbeat for my taste it was still a good conclusion.

UR is not worth buying a Kindle in itself, but if you already own one then this is definitely worth purchasing.

    GINGERCLOWN 3D Teaser Trailer

I reported a couple of weeks ago on GINGERCLOWN 3D, Hungary's first English language movie filmed in 3D and the fact that Tim Curry's name had been added to the cast. The film is due out before the end of the year and now we have an official teaser trailer to accompany the poster which has already been released.

Synopsis: It is 1983. A group of high school students are having a great time near Hollywood Hills one weekend when they bump into the Loser from their school, Sam, who's just on his way home.

Sam would do anything in order to get Jenny's attention, one of prettiest girls in school. Unfortunately she's also the girlfriend of the school's bully, Biff, the quarterback of the football team.

Biff and his buddies are keen to take Sam to the old abandoned amusement park to make him prove his courage as part of their initiation ceremony. They involve Jenny in their cruel game as the grand prize of the competition. Sam accepts the challenge but the girl wouldn't let him go in by himself, she follows him into the amusement park and a night they'll never forget.

Because in the old park, hidden in the darkness are frightening and somewhat eccentric monsters that love to torture innocent human beings while intensively annoying each other.

The voices of the monsters will be provided by well known American and British actors including:

    Tim Curry - Gingerclown
    Brad Dourif - Worm Creature
    Lance Henriksen - Braineater
    Michael Winslow - Stomachrumble
and Sean Young - Nelly the Spiderwoman

THE THING - Creature FX Work

I was one of those people who were a little skeptical when I first heard about this film being made. But I have to say, after watching the trailer and seeing the official stills I was starting to come around. And now that I've seen these creature FX images I'm actually really excited to go see this prequel when it comes out on October 14th.
Thanks to Bloody-disgusting and the unofficial Facebook page for THE THING we have a whole bunch of images here, from stills to pictures of the maquettes being used in the movie. I'm impressed, and cautiously optimistic that they won't rely too heavily on CGI.

Synopsis: “Antarctica: an extraordinary continent of awesome beauty. It is also home to an isolated outpost where a discovery full of scientific possibility becomes a mission of survival when an alien is unearthed by a crew of international scientists.
The shape-shifting creature, accidentally unleashed at this marooned colony, has the ability to turn itself into a perfect replica of any living being. It can look just like you or me, but inside, it remains inhuman. In the thriller THE THING, paranoia spreads like an epidemic among a group of researchers as they’re infected, one by one, by a mystery from another planet.

Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has traveled to the desolate region for the expedition of her lifetime. Joining a Norwegian scientific team that has stumbled across an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice, she discovers an organism that seems to have died in the crash eons ago. But it is about to wake up. When a simple experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate must join the crew’s pilot, Carter (Joel Edgerton), to keep it from killing them off one at a time. And in this vast, intense land, a parasite that can mimic anything it touches will pit human against human as it tries to survive and flourish."

Hank Searls JAWS 2 Book Review

I went and scoured all of the local op-shops the other week, looking for a few cheap horror books to read. I ended up finding quite a few that I'd never read before, including this gem which I was expecting to be pretty mediocre but was a surprisingly good read. The reason I only expected it to be average at best was that I've never really liked books adapted from films. But this isn't quite what I expected. It is based on the original screenplay for JAWS 2 written by Howard Sackler and Dorothy Tristan, but was actually released before the movie. And the screenplay was changed a lot before the film came out. While the basic storyline is pretty much the same, there are a lot of differences between the book and the film, and the novel definitely comes out on top. I think the movie would have been a lot better if it had been adapted from the original screenplay.

The story takes place on the small island of Amity, just as in the original and once more revolves around the Brody family. It's been some time since the last shark attack (or 'The Trouble' as the locals refer to it) and the town has mostly recovered from the tragedy. They all know that the shark was killed and they have nothing to worry about anymore. Or do they? There is another menace making it's way through the waters to Amity. Another Great White, but this time it's an even bigger female and she's pregnant. And hungry.
That's the basic plot, but there are a few fairly in depth subplots which are missing from the film version and definitely make this a more interesting story.
After a couple of mysterious tragedies including two divers disappearing and a speedboat exploding, Chief Martin Brody finds a man on the beach shooting at a seal. He's convinced that this man is responsible for the aforementioned tragedies and so arrests him and decides to do some investigating. But it turns out that he's chosen to arrest the wrong man. He just so happens to be an important member of the police, and threatens to jeopardize the construction of a casino which will be the town's saving grace. But Chief Brody refuses to back down. There is also a member of the mafia who holidays on the island and has an interest in the casino, and will do anything to get his way.
The climax of the book is similar to the movie. There is a regatta which has been organised for the children. But once the boats leave the fog moves in, and it's too late to call them back in. Then once the shark is discovered the whole town panics, and Chief Brody has to save his children. The manner in which the shark is killed is the same as in the film, however it is more accidental in the novel.

Hank Searls actually has a bit of a history with maritime themed literature, and so he knows all of the proper terms and the writing is excellent. Even the way the shark attacks are described are great, and more powerful than even the movie could make them -

He had a vision of himself, as if from above, enveloped by a dark shadow from the sea. No thought of a shark entered his consciousness: he'd offended somewhere, this was the hand of God. Mangled and torn, he knew nothing else.

Another aspect I liked was that parts of the story are told from the shark's point of view and you actually get a kind of emotional attachment to her. After all she's just a pregnant mother trying to find enough food and a safe place to give birth to her children.

So even if you've seen the movie and even if you didn't like it, this novel is still worth reading because it is a lot different. And a lot better.

    UNDERWORLD 4: AWAKENING Trailer

I may have mentioned before how much I loved the first two UNDERWORLD films. Mainly because they featured Kate Beckinsale and her ass clad in tight black leather. Which is exactly why I didn't even bother seeing the third movie (no Kate) but I am definitely looking forward to seeing the fourth installment.
Kate Beckinsale returns as Selene in this film directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein which will be hitting cinemas on January 20th 2012.

Synopsis: Underworld Awakening brings a stunning new dimension to the epic battle between Vampires and Lycans, as the first film in the franchise to shoot in 3D.

Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE Trailer & Poster

I don't know about you, but the first GHOST RIDER film was a big letdown for me. And my dislike for Nicolas Cage probably didn't help at all. But after watching this trailer, I'm willing to give the sequel a chance. It's looking a lot darker and more badass than the first movie. Check it out.

Synopsis: “It has been several years since making a deal with the Devil and Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), living in self-imposed isolation, finds himself as the only person who can help save 10-year-old Danny – and ultimately the world – thanks to his unwanted and uncontrollable power – his ability to transform into the hell-on-wheels monster known as The Ghost Rider”

    SUPER 8 (2011) Review

    Directed by: J.J. Abrams
Starring: Elle Fanning, Joel Courtney, Kyle Chandler

This was one film that I was waiting to see for a long time. I watched every trailer, every TV spot and the closer it came to the release date, the more excited I got. But then when the movie was finally released in theaters it somehow slipped my mind. In fact I only watched it for the first time today. But it was definitely worth it.
I suppose the best way to describe it would be that it's a mix of E.T, Cloverfield and The Goonies with a little Stand By Me thrown in. Basically the plot revolves around a group of young friends (all male apart from one) who are filming a zombie movie with a Super 8 camera. Everything is going fine until another student from their school Alica Dainard (Elle Fanning) joins their cast and they shoot a scene at the local train station. A train approaches the station and so they decide to use it in their scene. But that's when all of the trouble starts. A truck is seen driving onto onto the tracks and heads straight toward the train, and when they collide the train derails in a massive chain of explosions almost killing the children. When the dust settles, one of the young boys Joe (Joel Courtney) hears a loud banging coming from inside one of the carriages and watches in awe as the heavy steel door is blown right off its hinges. The kids realize that this was no accident, and when the military show up they have to try and unravel a secret more terrifying than any of them could imagine.

There are also a couple of subplots which help add a bit more substance to the film. The death of Joe's mother and the tension between him and his father is one, the other is a fairly run of the mill love story involving Joe and Alice. Not exactly groundbreaking but still interesting and the movie wouldn't be as good without them.

The film is set in Ohio in 1979 and plays a lot like ET, especially in the way it is filmed. The kids are pretty much a carbon copy of The Goonies, complete with the fat kid. The creature that escapes from the train carriage is never really seen clearly, but you still get a fairly good idea what it looks like, just like in Cloverfield.

The acting was good all round but especially from Elle Fanning who seemed to out-act both the kids and adults. I can't say much about the soundtrack since it didn't really seem to stick in my mind, which brings me to the conclusion that it wasn't anything special.

Despite a couple of inconsistencies (a pickup truck derailing a train and causing that much carnage, but still leaving the driver survive is one example) it was a great movie, and definitely one of the highlights of the year for me. Not exactly original, but still definitely worth seeing. And I'd definitely watch it again.

REC 4: APOCALYPSE Goes Into Production

I loved REC, it was a great zombie film which was almost ruined by the weak demonic-possession storyline that followed in REC 2. But I still enjoyed the second movie and now I'm really looking forward to the third film as well. After seeing the posters and stills it looks like it's going to be a really bloody and fun movie.
But now thanks to Dread Central we have news that the fourth film REC 4: APOCALYPSE is currently in production. Which is kind of surprising seeing as we haven't had a chance to even watch REC 3: GENESIS yet.
There's not really a lot to report, other than Jaume Balagueró recently used his Twitter page to announce that REC 4 is in production.

THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE PART II Release Date

I was recently reading Tom Six's announcement about THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE PART III and how it will make the second movie "look like a Disney film" and I was wondering about when I would actually get a chance to see the second film. And thanks to Horror-movies.ca we now have a release date for the film in the US (I'm still waiting for an Australian date but I'm guessing it won't be too far off).

Unfortunately while those in the UK won't get a chance to see THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE PART II: FULL SEQUENCE due to the BBFC's decision to ban it, the film will have a limited theatrical release in the US from October 7th through Landmark Theaters.

Head on over to Landmark Theaters to see if it's playing in a city near you.

Synopsis: The story of a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film in the series, The Human Centipede, and uses sandpaper to pleasure himself whilst watching the film. He decides to create a "human centipede" of his own, this time comprised of twelve victims as opposed to the first film's three. He uses his human centipede to his own sexual delight, taking sexual pleasure in watching the victims of the centipede defecate in each other's mouths, and using barbed wire wrapped around around his penis to rape the woman at the end of the centipede.

3D Amusement Park Horror In GINGERCLOWN

Tim Curry will be lending his voice to the upcoming horror comedy film GINGERCLOWN. Movierockets Entertainment are shooting Hungary's first 3D film in English and it's due to be released before the end of the year.

RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION Coming In 2012

I'm a huge fan of RESIDENT EVIL. The video games at least. Ever since I played the first game on the PS1 back in the day, I was in love. And when I heard that it was being adapted into a film, I was ecstatic. But I must admit, the first movie was a bit of a disappointment and although the sequels were better, none of them do justice to the video games. I still remember playing the original game by myself at night, and being terrified every time I ran out of ammo and had to try and kills hordes of undead with just a knife. The atmosphere is what made the games so great, and it's exactly what's lacking in the films.
So now we have another installment in the RESIDENT EVIL movie franchise. The fifth film titled RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION is on it's way, and I can't decided whether that's a good thing or not. On the one hand there is still the opportunity to make a film worthy of the RESIDENT EVIL title, but on the other hand there's a big chance that it will just be another mediocre entry into the fairly average franchise. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what unfolds.

Anyway, the new movie is expected to begin October 10th and will be shooting on location in both Toronto, Canada and Tokyo, Japan. There's been no confirmation whether Paul W.S. Anderson will be directing, but it's likely that he has written the script, since he's written all of the previous ones.
As for the cast, all we have so far is that Milla Jovovich will returning as Alice, Ali Larter will be playing Claire Redfield and Sienna Guillory will be playing Jill Valentine.
As much as I found the films to be disappointing, they have been a huge hit internationally with the last film AFTERLIFE grossing nearly $300 million worldwide so it's no surprise that another installment is in the works.

The film is set to open September 14th 2012.
    Stay tuned for more details.

    FINAL DESTINATION 5 Clips

Surprisingly (especially to myself) I've actually enjoyed all four of the FINAL DESTINATION films so far. They may not be fantastic pieces of cinematic storytelling, but they are a hell of a lot of fun. There's the smallest hint of a plot which can be explained in approximately 30 seconds, and is exactly the same in each film.
So obviously I know what to expect when I go see the fifth installment this month. In fact if the 'storyline' deviated from the previous four films at all, I'd probably be a little disappointed. I really hope they haven't added some sort of surprise or 'twist' because there's only one reason I'll be seeing this movie. It's the same reason which forced me to watch all seven (so far) SAW movies.
I like watching people die in horrible ways. In fact I think deep down everybody takes some sort of pleasure in seeing it, whether they'll admit it or not.
And it's not just the gruesome deaths I enjoy, it's the whole setup of them too. The Rube Goldberg approach is really interesting and does a good job (in most cases) at increasing the tension.

But anyway, I'll stop boring you with my opinions now and let you enjoy the following clips before the movie hits theatres on August 12th. Enjoy.

Synopsis: “In this fifth installment, Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.”

    PROMETHEUS Mega Post

Ok, so I thought it might be a little more convenient to have one big post on PROMETHEUS instead of the 4 or 5 separate ones I currently have. So I've gathered all of the images and info I could find and combined it into this single PROMETHEUS Mega Post.

First of all there are a few sites which I would like to thank for most of the content:

    First Showing
    Bloody Disgusting
    Horror Movies
    TGDaily
    Indie Wire
    and Prometheus Movie

I'll start off with the boring stuff and then build up to the more interesting stuff later on. Here is the poster art which is very simple, minimal and doesn't reveal much at all.

Next we have the official synopsis released by Fox which, once again doesn't really reveal a lot either.

Synopsis: Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.

However, there was also another synopsis which was released by an undisclosed source and has a lot of people convinced that it may actually be the real thing, even though Fox have categorically declared it to be a 'fake'. And I have to say, it sounds a hell of a lot more interesting than the official one.

humans were genetically engineered by a advanced alien race (space
jockeys). These "Alien Gods" also terraformed Earth in order to make
it habitable for their human creations.
Amongst the finds are coordinates to the Alien Gods' home-world.
    To Paradise.
Months later the Weyland Corp launch the spaceship PROMETHEUS and his
crew, into deep space to make first contact. Thanks to faster than
light travel a few years later the PROMETHEUS enters the Zeta Riticuli
star system. Humans are greeted by their makers, then transported
further into space to a scary yet fascinating world.
The Alien Gods are proud of their "children", their first creation to
    reach such levels of intelligence.
As a reward they share bits of their astonishing bio-based
    technologies with the humans.
But for one member of the Prometheus' crew it's not enough.
In a treacherous act he steals the "bio-source code" to Terraforming,
A technology at the origin of all Gods' powers, that could make humans
    equal to their creators.
The Alien Gods may be scientists but are also ruthless conquerors,
destroyers of worlds who will not accept humans as equals.
They unleash on the escaping human crew their favorite bio-weapon, a
creature used to "clean up" worlds before colonization. But something
goes wrong in the process and humans manage to turn the bio-weapon
against their makers. Giving birth to a smarter, nastier, bigger breed
of gut eating creatures. Creatures that will be the demise of
    Paradise.
What's left of the Prometheus crew manages to escape the doomed alien planet.
On their trail a survivor Alien God on a familiar ship with an
    ultimate mission.
Bring the wrath of the Gods to Earth.

Now you have to agree, with Ridley Scott at the helm and the cast which I'm about to reveal, that sounds like it could be a damn good film. Here is the cast to the best of my knowledge:

    Noomi Rapace
    Michael Fassbender
    Charlize Theron
    Idris Elba
    Sean Harris
    Kate Dicki
     Rafe Spall
    Logan Marshall-Green
    Ben Foster
    Guy Pearce

Now finally we get to the more interesting part. The images. This first group are a bunch of leaked photos taken on the set of PROMETHEUS, and are our first real clue that it may just be connected to the ALIEN films. Note the very Giger-esque appearance of some of the set pieces.

This second batch of leaked images come from Iceland. Production was moved from Pinewood Studios to Iceland in order to shoot some scenes at the Hekla volcano. Although this will only make up about 15 minutes of the movie's running time. Once again we get a glimpse of some very ALIEN-like set pieces.

After this slew of unofficial leaked photos, we finally got our first look at some official still shots which are shown below. But as per the poster and official synopsis, they really aren't very revealing at all.

Now to the most exciting part. Recently some PROMETHEUS footage was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con and it seems that somebody must have recorded it. A whole bunch of stills from the footage showed up on the net, and they are definitely the most revealing so far. Sure they're grainy and lo-res, but they're definitely intriguing. And they all but confirm suspicions that PROMETHEUS may be an ALIEN prequel or at the very least connected to it.

So there you have it. That's all of the info I have so far, but stay tuned for more as it comes through. This definitely has the makings of an amazing sci-fi film and I really can't wait until it's released. Oh, that reminds me.
The release date is currently set for June 8th 2012.
